This is a very simple little project and a fun way to liven up your breakfast table in the morning.
Skills needed:
• Working in rows
• Half treble
• Making a chain button loop
• Adding an edging
Yarn:
Colourway 1:
Rooster Almerino Aran, 50% baby alpaca, 50% merino wool aran (worsted) yarn, approx 94m per 50g ball:
1 ball of 303 Strawberry Cream
Colourway 2:
Rooster Almerino Aran, 50% baby alpaca, 50% merino wool aran (worsted) yarn, approx 94m per 50g ball:
1 ball of 309 Ocean (blue-green)
Hook and Equipment:
4.5mm crochet hook
Yarn sewing needle
1 small button
Tension:
Tension is not critical on this project.
Measurements:
The warmer will fit a mug 7.5cm in diameter across the top.
For the mug warmers
Make 32ch.
Row 1: 1htr in third ch from hook, 1htr in each ch to end. (30 sts)
Row 2: 2ch, 1htr in each st to end.
Row 3: 2ch, 2htr in first st, 1htr in each st to last st, 2htr. (32 sts)
Row 4: 2ch, 2htr in first st, 1htr in each st to last st, 2htr. (34 sts)
Row 5: 2ch, 1htr in each st.
Row 6: 2ch, 1htr in each st. At end of row, do not turn, make 8ch, ss approx 1cm down the side of work. Do not fasten off.
Edging
Make 4dc evenly along first side edge, 3dc in corner st, 30dc along bottom edge, 3dc in corner st, 5dc along second side edge, 3dc in corner st, 1dc in each st across top, 1dc into each ch around button fastener, ss into fi rst dc.
Fasten off.
Making up and finishing
Sew side seam up to base of handle. Sew on button to correspond with button fastener. Place mug inside cover and fasten.
