WHAT TO DO
1. Using red yarn, make 4 chain, join with a slip stitch in the first stitch to make a circle. Round 1: Chain 1 and then work 12 single crochet into the circle. Join the last stitch to the first stitch using a slip stitch. Change to green yarn. Round 2: Chain 4.
2. Work double crochet in the next stitch and chain 1; repeat this sequence 10 times until you are back to the start and then join to the top of the first stitch with a slip stitch.
3. Change to the blue yarn. Round 3: Chain 3. Work 3 double crochet in the same gap, remove the hook from the stitch, insert the hook front to back into the top of the first stitch, then re-hook the end stitch and pull it through to create a popcorn stitch.
4. Chain 2, then work 4 double crochet in the next gap, repeat dropping the stitch, inserting the hook into the front of the stitch and pulling through to create your second popcorn stitch. Repeat this last sequence until you are back to the start and then join to the top of the first popcorn using a slip stitch.
5. Change to mustard yarn. Round 4: Work 2 popcorn stitches in the first gap, then 1 popcorn in the next gap. Repeat this sequence of 2 and 1 until you get back to the start and then join to the top of the first popcorn using a slip stitch.
6. Change to red yarn. Round 5: Work 2 popcorn stitches in the first gap, then 1 popcorn stitch in each of the next 2 gaps. Repeat this sequence of 2, 1, and 1 until you get back to the start and then join to the top of the first popcorn using a slip stitch.
7. Change to green yarn. Round 6: Work 2 popcorn stitches in the first gap, then 1 popcorn in each of the next 3 gaps. Repeat this sequence of 2, 1, 1, and 1 until you get back to the start and then join to the top of the first popcorn using a slip stitch. Change to blue yarn. Round 7: Work 2 popcorn stitches in the first gap, then 1 popcorn in each of the next 4 gaps. Repeat this sequence of 2, 1, 1, 1, and 1 until you get back to the start and then join to the top of the first popcorn using a slip stitch. Fasten off the yarn by pulling it through the last stitch to secure.
8. Complete your coaster by sewing in the ends and ironing it on the reverse. Cut a round piece of felt to the same size and hand stitch this to the reverse of the coaster. Repeat for another three coasters but change the order of the colors so they all look different!
