While we might admit a small bias towards books (and can you blame us?), we also love to try new projects, techniques and ideas from a range of different sources. We often share patterns from our books with the craft magazine publishers and have a lot of friends in the craft mag world. Here’s a round up of some of our favourite magazines for crafters (these magazines are based in the UK but often available further afield with digital subscriptions)...
Mollie Makes
Full of lovely ideas for all sorts of crafters, and often including free craft kits, new subscriber gifts and beautiful pull-out papers; if you’re looking for a craft mag that’s always ahead of the trend, you can’t go wrong with Mollie Makes.
Simply Crochet
Simply Crochet is a great magazine offering a range of patterns from the super cute to the seriously stylish. We love the crochet inspiration and technical advice that helps with our crochet questions.
Simply Sewing
There are loads of reasons why we love Simply Sewing—with patterns for seasonal wardrobes, sewing techniques and handy home-sewn items—but as we were writing this blog post, we saw the beautiful sundress in the latest issue and now we love it more than ever!
Sew
With great gifts for new subscribers and fantastic sewing patterns—from lovely outfits for adults and children to quirky accessories and items for the home—this is a brilliant monthly mag for sewers of all levels.
Crafts Beautiful
We love this magazine for its inspiring range of crafts and things to do. From card making and paper craft to jewellery making, baking and your usual knitting, crochet and sewing crafts; there’s a project in here no matter what mood you’re in.
Papercrafter
We love the creative homemade cards and pretty paper crafting ideas in the magazine! It’s a great magazine for anyone who loves to get crafty for friends’ birthdays, anniversaries, thank you notes, invites... in fact, there’s always an occasion for card making!
Love Sewing
Love sewing? You’re going to love this magazine, with step-by-step guides for sewing techniques, lots of stylish patterns using the latest fabrics, and free gifts for new subscribers.
Knit Now

Crochet Now
Likewise, if you’re after a great range of crochet patterns then check out Crochet Now, where you’ll find crocheted clothes, accessories, items for the home and for children.
Reloved
This magazine is a little different to the others on our list, but we love the upcycling ideas and inventive ways of reusing your old home items. Whether you’re refurbishing your home or just looking for a project to get stuck into, we think you’ll find something in Reloved.
